How To Integrate AI Tools Into Your Communication Workflow

In today’s fast-paced communication landscape, integrating AI tools into our workflow can revolutionise the way we operate. From streamlining processes to achieving cost savings, AI frees us up to focus on what truly adds value: advising the business. However, a strategic approach is crucial for effective integration.

Drawing from his experience launching the Centre for Strategic Communication Excellence AI boot camp, Adrian Cropley  has developed a model to seamlessly incorporate AI into your daily workflow.

Here’s a quick overview of the seven-step model:
    1. Identify Business Needs and Desired Outcomes: Define your goals and assess current processes to pinpoint where AI can make the most impact.
    2. Audience Analysis & Stakeholder Mapping: Use AI for deep insights into audience preferences, ensuring chosen solutions align with strategic goals.
    3. Choose the Right AI Solutions: Select AI technologies that fit your objectives, whether it's for customer interactions or analytics for campaign monitoring.
    4. Implementation Planning: Develop a comprehensive plan for integrating AI, including training and change management strategies.
    5. Execution and Monitoring: Deploy AI tools, monitor the rollout, and measure performance against expected outcomes.
    6. Evaluation and Adjustment: Evaluate AI’s impact post-deployment, conduct ROI analysis, and adjust strategies to optimize outcomes.
    7. Ethical Considerations and Compliance: Ensure AI implementations comply with legal standards, respect privacy, avoid bias, and operate transparently.

It’s this speed that has led to a plethora of definitions, functions, as well as job titles – Personnel, Human Resources (HR), People & Culture, Internal Communication, Employee Communication, Employee Engagement, and Employee Experience. But what does it all mean and why are they vital for the success of your business?

In this series, we take a look at how the employee-focused professions have evolved, put some rigour and consistency around the terms involved, and share some concrete actions you can take to measure and manage your employee experience for business success.

In this first article, we consider the business case for focusing on employee disciplines, as well as taking a look at how they evolved. The second article focuses on establishing a consistent, professional vocabulary which facilitates shared understanding and value.
