AI in Internal Communication

On August 27, 2024, the CSCE hosted the launch of Monique Zytnik‘s new book, Internal Communication in the Age of Artificial Intelligence along with our friends at the International Association of Business Communicators Asia-Pacific region.

Monique was joined by Sia Papageorgiou and Ross Monaghan for a discussion about the evolving role of internal communication in an AI-driven world, exploring key strategies for maintaining human-centric approaches while leveraging AI tools effectively. Monique shared valuable insights on the ethical considerations of AI in communication and how to navigate this rapidly changing landscape. Monique also took the time to answer questions from the audience.

Monique believes that to be successful in our world of change, great communication with people in your organisation is essential for getting the right things done. It is the people who make the difference. It is the people who motivate her to support leaders and communication professionals to be their best. However, Monique also emphasises that to truly achieve sustainable success, communication must be deliberate and strategic. The purpose of her book is to guide leaders in communicating effectively at scale, which is only possible when communication strategies are carefully thought out and aligned with broader organisational goals.

Hiring processes are still sidelining some of the most capable communication professionals — often for vague, unhelpful reasons like “too senior,” “too broad,” or “not quite the right fit.” Beneath those labels sit deeper issues: discomfort with experience, misunderstanding of judgement-based roles and a growing but rarely acknowledged problem of ageism.

This webinar looks ahead to hiring in 2026 and asks some necessary questions about how communication capability is assessed, why experienced professionals are so often overlooked, and what needs to change if organisations genuinely want stronger leadership, trust and influence.
