Groundbreaking report on AI in PR and Communication management

We’re thrilled to announce the release of our landmark research report, “Reimagining Tomorrow: AI in PR and Communication Management.”  This comprehensive global study, representing nearly 500 voices from across the PR and communication profession, provides powerful insights into how our industry is navigating the AI revolution. The findings reveal both remarkable opportunities and critical challenges that will shape the future of our profession.

The report highlights a profession at a crossroads: while AI adoption is widespread (91%), only 39.4% of organizations have responsible AI frameworks in place, and PR teams are taking a leading role in AI governance in just 8.2% of organizations. Perhaps most concerning, fewer than half of communications teams are communicating about responsible AI to stakeholders.

“Reimagining Tomorrow: AI in PR and Communication Management” was officially launched by the CEO and President of the Global Alliance, Prof. Justin Green, on May 16, 2025, at the AI Symposium in Venice.

Adrian Cropley and Bonnie Caver, who led this research for the Global Alliance, will present detailed findings in their workshop at the symposium and discuss practical applications for PR and communication professionals.

The full report is now available. This research lays the groundwork for the Responsible Communication Movement led by the Global Alliance, whose initiative is to ensure PR and communication professionals lead with purpose, integrity, and foresight in an AI-enabled world.

Take Our AI in Public Relations and Communication Survey

The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management has partnered with the Centre for Strategic Communication Excellence (CSCE) and Reputation Lighthouse — on a Responsible AI survey to understand the AI evolution better as it pertains to the Public Relations and Communication profession.

We want to uncover how professionals address ethical and responsible AI and benchmark professional insights and influence. This information will be used to prepare for the Global Alliance AI Symposium in Venice in May in conjunction with the Global Alliance’s Annual Meeting and European Regional Council Meeting. Based on this survey data and the AI Symposium, we will update the Global Alliance’s Guiding Principles for Ethical and Responsible AI and connect the dots to the Global Alliance’s Responsible Communication Movement. So, this is your opportunity to have a voice in this critical advocacy for our profession.

Your feedback is invaluable. By participating, you are contributing to research that will help define the next chapter of excellence in strategic communication.
